What Types Of Insulin Are Used To Treat Diabetes?

There are two kinds of Insulin at work when you have Diabetes. The two insulins are: Bolus Insulin and Basal Insulin. One is taking during the day and the other is done at night.

About Bolus Insulin:

- Take during a meal
- it should help with counteracting a rise with your blood sugar

About Basal Insulin:

- Take this one when you are not eating
- Can be taking at night

There are long acting insulins and intermediate ones that you can use.

When you have Type 2 Diabetes the medications vary a little bit and so does treatment.

Whatever treatment you are on contact your doctor if you start having any side effects from the insulin or if it is not working the way it should be. It's important to try and write down when you take your insulin so you won't forget.
