What is Non Injectable Insulin?

Insulin is essential for most diabetics to ensure that they can keep healthy and balanced glucose levels. Currently the only form of insulin available is the kind people don't like to take: the kind that involves an injection. Recently a company called Generex announced the release of a product called Oral-lyn. Oral-lyn is an usable form of insulin created for fast use inside the body that can be inhaled. This offers hope for many diabetics since for many of them an injection of insulin on a daily basis is one of the most hated parts of their day.

While Oral-lyn is currently only approved in Ecuador it leaves hope open for people that soon they will be able to go without the pain of a daily injection. While the company isn't releasing much information about how it is done they are saying that by introducing the genetic code of iclets (the cells that create insulin in the human body) into certain forms of plants they are able to produce this insulin and with careful transformation create a stable drug that can be inhaled like many asthma medications. While Generex is having a hard time getting approved by the FDA it is only a matter of time before another pharmaceutical company in the USA or Europe comes up with a similar solution and has the funds to get it passed through the FDA.
