Are there ways to ease nighttime pain when you are Diabetic?


People often have nighttime pain when they are Diabetic. This can cause them to not get the amount of sleep that they need. There are things that you can do to help reduce the amount of pain.

During the day make sure that you get up and walk around. Sitting a lot can cause you to have pain shoot through your legs at night because of not getting enough circulation. Walking for at least 15-20 minutes will help.

Maintain the right diet during the day and don't cheat right before bed. Some think that because they did really good during the day they should have some chocolate at night but that can really mess up your system.

Drink water at night and not coffee before you go to bed. Having caffeine right before bed will give you energy that you don't need and might cause you not to sleep because of it.

Talk with your doctor about nighttime medications and treatment. See if there is anything out there that might be able to help you reduce the pain. Often times you will find at least one medication that does the trick.
