What is Insulin Shock?

When your blood sugar is really low you are having Hypoglycemia and that is because you are not getting the right amount of sugar that you need in your blood. Not getting the right amount of sugar can cause insulin shock. People with type 1 and type 2 diabetes often experience this when they have not been taking their medications or doing their treatments.

There are many reasons why you might experience low blood sugar:

- You might miss a meal
- You might take to much medication or insulin
- doing lots of exercise at once
- Having alcohol
- Taking certain medications
- Older age might cause it
- Having a lot of vomiting
- Diarrhea
- Problems that are medical
- Causes might actually be unknown

Sometimes Hypoglycemia might pop up when you are trying your best to control diabetes and it can't be stopped. You should not get discouraged when this happens but just pay attention when your body starts having certain symptoms and not acting the way it should.
