Why is there a Higher Rate of Infection with Diabetes?

Having Diabetes makes you body slower to fight off infections because of the way your blood is flowing and that causes damage to your system. When your blood is not working the way it should then you do not get the circulation that is needed.

There are warning signs that you should watch out for when you think that you might have an infection:

- Skin rash
- Fever
- Pain
- Tenderness
- Sweating
- Chills
- Sore throat
- Scratchy throat
- Sinus drainage
- Headaches
- Flu like symptoms
- Urination problems

This is a small list but there are actually a lot more signs so you should pay attention to your body at all times when you have Diabetes and if in doubt, contact your doctor. Please remember that the warning signs vary with each person.
