Will the baby still be healthy?

The doctor will requests for a lot of tests to be done while you are pregnant to see how the baby is doing and developing. The tests will be able to help predict how the delivery might go and they might know the time of when the baby will be born.

There are a few tests that might be performed to determine this:

- They will give a ultrasound and might do this one throughout your pregnancy.

- They will test the baby's liver with a test called Alpha-fetoprotein

- They will test the baby's lungs to see if they are maturing the way they should with a test called Amniocentesis.

- They will give a non-stress test to help find out the baby's heart rate.

- there will be a fetal monitor so they can keep track of your baby's heart rate

Most doctors go over what all of these tests mean before you take them. It will help everyone and you will be able to figure out if your baby will be healthy or not during time of birth. However, things can change during labor because something might happen that wasn't predicted.
