The reason why Diabetes can cause amputations is because of the way Diabetes affects your body. When your blood sugar is not flowing the way it should you will have a lot of complications. When your blood is not flowing the way it should it causes poor circulation and that is what leads to amputation.

When your circulation is poor the oxygen and nutrients are not able to reach the cells the right way causing the infections to not be healed or either be slow with healing. If your cell does not have the right kind of nutrients needed, the cell dies and that causes the area that is affected to become tingly and painful. Not only can slow circulation create these things but it can also cause a blood vessel to be blocked that causes a clot to happen with your blood leading to heart attacks and death.
