Diabetes: Be In Control


If you are a person that is suffering from diabetes, then you need to make sure that you begin taking control.  Diabetes is not a medical condition that anyone would want to play with. It is very important that you get your blood sugar level under control.

When you find out that you are a diabetic you should start at that moment and take care of yourself. Working with your physician to handle this horrible situation is the best thing that you could do. It is not only up to your physician to help you control your medical problem, but it also your responsibility.

Here is a few self-care tips that you can perform to help be in control of those diabetes:

- Consider diabetic meal planning. If you cannot find on then ask your physician what he or she recommends.
- Select healthy foods such as vegetables, fruits, skinless turkey, fish, whole grain, skim milk, and low-fat cheese.
- Grill, bake or broil your meats.
- Less salt and foods with less fat.
- High fiber foods
- Exercise for 30-60 minutes daily.
- Learn how to cope with your stress.  Stress will make your glucose levels increase.
- Quit smoking. There are lots of things out on the market to help you stop.

Do not forget to check your blood sugar levels on a daily basis and keep record of it, so that you can take it to your next doctor visit.
