How Does Diabetes Affect Pregnancy?

Glucose can affect what the size of the baby actually is depending on what kind of diabetes you have. When your sugar level goes past a certain point the baby might get a lot of nourishment and when it gets to much, it will be big. When this happens sometimes macrosomia might develop, in other words a fat baby and that might lead into problems.

When you are diabetic and pregnant there are a couple of things that you should do:

- get plenty of rest and don't overdo things
- drink a lot of water
- eat right and plenty of vegetables and fruit
- stay away from junk food

Listen to what the doctor tells you when you have diabetes and pregnant at the same time. If you come off the doctors plan or don't do things when needed, it could cause some serious problems later.
